Grand Teton Vacation
Ask anyone of my wonderful family members and they will tell you that I am not a morning person. I try really hard to be, but for some reason mornings just don't agree with me. However, yesterday morning happened to be a very different story. We went on vacation at Yellowstone National Park. On our second to last day, we drove through Grand Teton National Park. Both park were areas that I had always dreamed of visiting, but never got around to. It is pretty difficult to take time off during a busy season, but sometimes that time away can help you to clear your mind and be more productive. The day we drove through Teton, there were some beautiful thunderstorms, but they were less than ideal for one particular photo that I just had to have of Grand Teton (the one above). So, at 5:40 am, the next day, I arose without any hesitation to the amazing sound of my alarm clock. I woke the family up and we headed out the door. I knew it was going to be the perfect morning. The sun was just barely peaking over the horizon as we traveled down what appeared to be a bumpy road that lead to nowhere. At the end of the road was a parking lot. I was so delighted to see other cars in the parking lot. Truthfully, I was terrified that a Grizzly Bear would think my family of three was the perfect breakfast. At this time, I just meandered around the beaver dams and ponds, until I came to the perfect spot. I am by no means a landscape photographer. I love everything about photographing people. However, in this timeless moment, my breath was taken away by the gorgeous landscape that God created just for us to enjoy. It really was breathtaking.
